KENYA
In 2019 I fell in love with Kenya. I was constantly surrounded by new smells, sounds, animals, foods. It was unlike anywhere or anything I've ever experienced before. I lived in a small town about an hour outside of Nairobi with no traffic, but traffic was a constant here. Teaching and working in an orphanage for a month, I was humbled by the children I had the pleasure of working with and the stories I was able to hear. I also took a few trips on the weekends, including a safari in Maasai Mara. The migration started early that year, so there were 2 million zebras and 4 million wildebeests in the reserve, making their way between Tanzania and Kenya. The air was clean. We drove for hours and hours through the bush everyday, and the wind in your face and the animals by the van were enough.
